Our Practice

A Leading-Edge Women’s Health Practice for a Lifetime of Care

Mesquite Women’s Clinic specializes in helping women manage their health through all stages of their lives. Dr. Edward Ofori, the medical director of Mesquite Women’s Clinic, chose to specialize in obstetrics and gynecology (OBGYN) for very personal reasons. When he was young in Ghana, his cousin died in childbirth. He decided to become a doctor in order to save other women from that fate.

Several decades later, his extensive experience, combined with his thoughtful understanding of the unique health challenges women face, has earned him the loyalty of patients throughout Mesquite and the surrounding communities of Overton, Logandale, Littlefield and beyond.

We’ve intentionally stayed local and small in order to give patients in our community the kind of care we want for our own families. This includes allowing them the time they need to ask questions and discuss their concerns.

Since we opened our practice in 2004, we have earned a reputation for providing consistently high-quality medical care. But we are most proud of the praise we receive from patients like you who appreciate the friendly, compassionate and instructive approach we take to obstetrics and gynecology.

Dr. Elizabeth “Buffy” Taylor, graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Utah in 2001. Buffy has worked for various hospitals on various units, but her favorite jobs have been lactation specialist, labor and delivery nurse, and high-risk OB flight nurse. Buffy’s passion for women’s health led her back to the University of Utah where she proudly earned a Doctorate in Nursing Practice in Women’s Health (DNP, WHNP). One of the highlights of Buffy’s education was receiving The Outstanding Women’s Health DNP Scholarly Project Award. Buffy’s project focused on perinatal depression and how to best screen for mood instability during pregnancy and in the postpartum period.

Buffy’s professional passions include preventative care, obstetrical care, preconception management, hormone replacement therapy, and sexual health. Buffy also has a passion for global health and has volunteered several times in Guatemala. While in Guatemala, Buffy has assisted with research projects, provided primary care, given acupuncture treatments, assisted with gynecological surgeries, and taught neonatal resuscitation to midwives and local paramedics. In her free time, Buffy enjoys traveling, reading books, going to baseball games, and eating good food. Buffy is married to her best friend, Koby, and they have five amazing children.
